Originally placed in-line 22oHm resistors across red and orange/white wires to ultimately quiet fans by lowering input voltage.
It still seemed a bit loud. Server temps were still well below ‘worry’ levels.
Opted for the 33ohm instead. While in area I plan to clean it all up (like I should have the first time) with shrink tube.
5-22-18 | Two down. Two to go. The second looks much better than the first
Honestly, this server will probably be decommissioned within the next couple months.
05-27-19 | Resistors got way too hot. Discarded them and donated server to FreeGeek Chicago.
